Get on YouTube and learn all you can about what you have. Learn about composition, posing, lighting, and on and on. You can learn so much about photography while just using your phone. I do recommend a full-frame DSLR and a good-quality lens that has a wide aperture. I do advocate doing a lot of learning so that you can use your gear to its fullest potential.
